2021 Town of Fairplay Events

The Town of Fairplay is excited to put on some of our popular summer events in 2021! Please check back for updates to the events and to see the Fall and Winter event information as it evolves. 2021 Town Events Calendar

May 22 – Fairplay Cemetery Clean Up Day, at the end of County Road 16 (Castello Avenue, east side of Hwy. 285), 9am – Noon. Join the Town and the American Legion for our annual clean-up day at the cemetery. Bring gloves, weed eaters, rakes, garden and yard tools. June 4, 5, & 6– Fairplay Town Clean Up Days, for Town residents and businesses, proof of residency showing physical address is required. Friday and Saturday, 7:30am – 4:30pm, Sunday, 7:30am – 3pm. June 5 – Huck Finn Day at the Fairplay Beach, free fishing in Colorado all weekend! For information contact the Division of Wildlife at 303-916-0784.

June 12 – South Park High School Graduation Parade through Town, approximately 11:30am

June 12 – South Park Trails Marathon and ½ Marathon, www.humanpotentialrunning.com

June 26 – “Brat-T-Gras” Community Block Party, 4pm – 9pm, Front Street between 4th and 6th Streets - We missed Mardi Gras so much this year we are going to celebrate in June with brats, beads and your neighbors! Bring your Mardi Gras spirit and costumes! This outdoor event will offer food provided for purchase by local restaurants. The beer and wine tent will be up and running and live music will be provided on the street from 4pm – 6pm leading up to the “Split Window” concert from 6pm – 9pm at the corner of 4th and Front St. For more information email jbullock@fairplayco.us or call 719-838-0163. July 4 – “Fairplay’s Independence Day Celebration” - Start your celebration this year with the Burro Buster 5k scholarship race (click here to register), enter your pooch in the “Strut Your Mutt” dog competition, watch the parade or be a part of the parade (register for the parade with this form), enjoy food, beer and wine during the outdoor concert by “Narrow Gauge,” a country and classic rock dance band. End the night with an awesome fireworks show (dependent on fire ban) over the Fairplay Beach! July 11 – Park County Fair Royalty Parade through Town streets at Noon.

July 13 – 18 – Park County Fair, Vendors, Carnival, Animals & Rodeo, www.parkcofair.com.

July 22-25 – Fairplay Gem, Mineral & Jewelry Show, River Park Event Site, 200 Platte Drive, 9am – 5pm, FREE Admission and FREE Parking. 24 well-spaced dealers at this outdoor show. Mineral specimens, decorator items, rough rock, slabs, jewelry, cabochons, beads, fossils, petrified wood, lapidary items, tools, equipment, http://abqfallshow.wixsite.com/Fairplay.

July 23-25 - “72nd Burro Days Event” – This historic event takes place all weekend with arts, craft and food vendors, burro, llama, dog and outhouse races, a parade, live music, cowboy church, and more! Enjoy some rockin’ blues with “The Outliers,” on Friday night to kickoff Burro Days! To be a vendor or enter the burro race go to www.burrodays.org. August 7 – Sheep Mountain Endurance Runs, 50-Mile & 50K. www.humanpotentialrunning.com.

August 14-15 – Living History Days at the South Park City Museum, Gunfights, 40+ buildings of Local Mining Town History & Period Costumes.

August 27 - Free Concert with “Hazel Miller and the Collective – Enjoy one of the tightest and most versatile bands on the scene.  You get originals, jazz, blues, R&B, and popular music, each song with the band's own flavor!
