The Town of Fairplay Police Department is hiring full-time Police Sergeants. Minimum qualifications are 21 years of age, legal resident of the United States or legally able to work in the United States with 3-5 years of continuous experience as law enforcement Officer, Associate Degree in Criminal Justice or related field or specialized courses/training or work experience that is equivalent to satisfactory completion of two years of college in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice or closely related field, Colorado POST (Peace Officer Standards & Training) certificate and valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record; any acceptable combination of education, training and experience that provides the listed knowledge, abilities and skills may be substituted. Candidates must also be able to pass a criminal background investigation, psychological exam, physical, drug screening and polygraph test. Starting salary range is $77,000-$83,000 and is dependent on experience and qualifications and includes an excellent benefits package including fully paid health insurance for the Officer and family.
