Building Department

The Fairplay Building Department is responsible for regulating building activities to ensure that residential and commercial structures comply with applicable building codes. The Building Department issues permits, performs review of construction-related plans and inspects all structures located within the corporate limits of the Town of Fairplay. Please see the map on the right, or a larger image at the bottom of the page for details of the Town Limits.
For projects outside of the Town Limits, please contact the Park County Building Department. 

Plumbing and Electrical Permits
The Town of Fairplay now has certified inspectors for plumbing and electrical systems, the Town of Fairplay permits all work within the Town.
State of Colorado (DORA) permits are no longer needed.

In 2022, the Town Board of Trustees approved a professional services agreement with Charles Abbott Associates to provide comprehensive Building Department Services for the Town.

Effective January 1, 2023, the Town of Fairplay updated to the 2018 ICC codes series. Any permit with a submission date before January 1, 2023, will be inspected to the 2012 series for the entire project.
